Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Dourado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adri Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adri Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Dourado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adri Silva!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva gets the takedown into side control.
Silva sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dourado is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Dourado wants to control but Silva postures up.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Dourado is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dourado manages to work his way to half guard, despite Silva's best efforts.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Silva has managed to clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Silva throws an elbow but misses.

Dourado jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Silva walks away with a smile on his face. Dourado gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dourado keeps the fight on the outside.
Horrible takedown by Dourado or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.

Silva rushes Dourado and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Silva tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Dourado decides to pull guard.
Dourado controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.
Dourado keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Silva content to stall in guard here.
Dourado looking to control.

Dourado looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.
Silva with a flurry of punches that miss.
Dourado throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Dourado is trying to control the position but Silva postures up.
Dourado utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Silva looks gassed!

Dourado is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dourado looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Dourado throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dourado off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcelo Dourado. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Silva looks to land a combination but Dourado avoids it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Silva shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dourado is trying to defend but Silva finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Dourado tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Dourado wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.

Silva is trying to work for a kimura but Dourado is defending well.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dourado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva wants to pass to mount but Dourado is defending the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adri Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dourado looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Silva throws a head kick but Dourado moves out of range.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Dourado pushes him off.

Dourado moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
Silva is pressed up against the cage. Dourado has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Silva down to the mat. Silva avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Silva darts in and clinches Dourado up against the cage.
Silva lands a nice elbow.

Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dourado sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Dourado is trying to stand back up but Silva is controlling him
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dourado wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Dourado circles away.

Silva wants to clinch up but Dourado keeps it at a distance.

Dourado slips a jab and a cross from Silva.
Dourado fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.

Silva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dourado looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dourado sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Silva is nestled in close to Dourado, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dourado's head.
Dourado is not content to let Silva control the position.

Silva stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dourado to get to his feet.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dourado swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva tries to clinch but Dourado is having none of it.
Dourado feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Silva's calf.
Dourado bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Silva's head backwards.
Dourado throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dourado gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Dourado is trying to maintain the position but Silva is very close to passing his half guard.

Adri Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Dourado counters with a one-two to the body.
Dourado is trying hard to land a takedown here. Silva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dourado is looking to improve his position.
Silva is nestled in close to Dourado, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Silva lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Silva looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dourado with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dourado pushes Silva off looking to stand but Silva dives back in and keeps control.
Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Dourado is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Silva tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Dourado makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dourado.

Silva chips away with some ground and pound.
Dourado is trying to keep Silva in close.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dourado is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Silva is holding on to half guard well.
Silva is trying to get back to full guard.

Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Dourado wants to get back to his feet.

Dourado seems to be working for a kimura but Silva defends the submission attempt.
Dourado is looking to stall here but Silva recovers full guard.
Dourado looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Silva stands up over Dourado, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Silva wants to control from the top but Dourado keeps moving.
Dourado is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silva thows a big elbow that misses.

Adri Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
