The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kim tries to bum rush Daniels with a series of wild strikes but Daniels uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kim throws a left and a right that both miss

and Daniels moves into the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Daniels.

Kim's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Daniels is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Daniels moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Kim shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kim was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Daniels can't escape the position.
Daniels wants to control but Kim is having none of it.

Kim goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Daniels turns into him and now he's in Kim's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Daniels is squirming around, avoiding Kim's attempts to control the action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jae Sun Kim just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kim shoots for a double leg takedown but Daniels sprawls well. He's pushed Kim's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Kim counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
