PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Zalcock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eder De Oliveria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Eder De Oliveria!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zalcock avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

It looks like Eder De Oliveria has been cut.
Zalcock throws out a powerful jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zalcock thows a left - swing and a miss!
De Oliveria uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Zalcock.
Zalcock throws a shot from downtown. De Oliveria moves away and avoids it.
Zalcock misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Zalcock tries to close the distance and clinch but De Oliveria swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

No joy there for Zalcock, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Zalcock swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zalcock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by De Oliveria.

Zalcock rushes De Oliveria and presses him up against the cage.
De Oliveria fails to pull guard.
De Oliveria jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zalcock walks away with a smile on his face. De Oliveria gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A jab-cross combination lands for Zalcock and sends De Oliveria crashing to the mat! Zalcock follows him down to the mat - De Oliveria regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zalcock seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Zalcock knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for De Oliveria on the ground.
Zalcock slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Zalcock smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


That has opened up Eder De Oliveria's cut even more.

Zalcock pushes De Oliveria up against the cage in a clinch.
De Oliveria jumps guard but Zalcock stands there with De Oliveria around his waist. De Oliveria gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hugo Zalcock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eder De Oliveria.
De Oliveria tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Zalcock just stands there and leans against the cage.
De Oliveria jumps guard but Zalcock stands there with De Oliveria around his waist. De Oliveria gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Zalcock closes the distance and pushes De Oliveria back into the cage.

De Oliveria gets control of Zalcock's arms and successfully pulls guard. De Oliveria will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zalcock slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
De Oliveria is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

De Oliveria closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zalcock to the mat! Zalcock manages to get full guard.
Zalcock has his hands on De Oliveria's head, controlling the position.

De Oliveria postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Zalcock is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of De Oliveria, into his guard.
De Oliveria is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

De Oliveria escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zalcock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

De Oliveria has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zalcock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Zalcock here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hugo Zalcock will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Zalcock throws a series of punches but De Oliveria avoids them all with ease.

and Zalcock counters with a left and a right that stings De Oliveria.

and Zalcock holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Zalcock throws a right and a left that both miss.
Zalcock lands with a hook. De Oliveria tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


The cut above Eder De Oliveria's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zalcock throws a nice looking combination but De Oliveria bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Zalcock drops De Oliveria with a left and a right! Oh, De Oliveria is hurt - Zalcock dives into side control looking to finish!


De Oliveria is rocked!


Eder De Oliveria's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Eder De Oliveria's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Hugo Zalcock!
