PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chong Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and shaka zulu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ever Fallen In Love. zulu comes into a darkened arena with his song building. do it kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

It looks like shaka zulu has been cut.
zulu throws a body punch but Lee moves out of range.
shaka zulu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Excellent takedown into side control there by zulu.

Lee takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

zulu stands up and beckons Lee to his feet.
No joy there for zulu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
zulu throws a right and a left that Lee avoids nicely.

Lee feints and as zulu raises his hands in defense, Lee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but zulu is retaining full guard.
Lee passes zulu's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
zulu regains full guard. Nicely done.
zulu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard.
zulu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
zulu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
zulu breaks from Lee's wrist control and lands an elbow.
zulu is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lee can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Lee uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before zulu has time to react.
zulu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lee goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Lee moves out of range as zulu throws a body kick.
zulu cracks Lee with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
zulu moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

zulu lands a left and a right that send Lee crashing to the mat, dazed. zulu thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Lee is rocked!

It looks like Chong Lee has been cut.
Lee is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. zulu doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Lee crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Lee's bad books for that mishap!
