Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sgt Parrotface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jony Jony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sgt Parrotface has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sgt Parrotface!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jony Jony!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parrotface closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jony did well to prevent Parrotface getting side control.
Jony wants to improve his position but Parrotface is controlling well.
Parrotface looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Jony looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Parrotface is taking a breather. Jony says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jony pushes Parrotface off looking to stand but Parrotface dives back in and keeps control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Parrotface wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jony keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jony trying to control from the bottom.
Jony regains full guard. Nicely done.
Jony wants to sweep here but Parrotface controlling him for the moment.

Jony has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Parrotface can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jony manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Parrotface manages to get himself to full guard.
Parrotface controls Jony momentarily but Jony frees himself.
Jony postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jony loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jony avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jony throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Parrotface works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Parrotface really is a fat lump.
Parrotface wants to improve his position but instead Jony has moved into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jony looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jony is stalling here. Parrotface is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jony seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Parrotface has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sgt Parrotface will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!



Parrotface shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jony manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jony keeping moving, preventing Parrotface from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jony has his feet on Parrotface's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jony misses with a takedown

and Parrotface holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Parrotface turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Parrotface manages to end up in side control.

Parrotface tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Parrotface has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Parrotface postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jony tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Jony trying his best to control but Parrotface has mounted him.
Parrotface tries to control but Jony wriggling away.
Jony working to try and regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Poor strikes thrown by Parrotface there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Jony wants to control but Parrotface is having none of it.
Jony is looking to improve his position but Parrotface isn't that keen on the idea.

Parrotface is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jony has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jony!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Parrotface pulls Jony in close to his closed guard and prevents Jony from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jony trying to control but Parrotface is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sgt Parrotface dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Parrotface looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jony shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Parrotface counters with a single leg into guard. Jony didn't expect that.
Parrotface might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Parrotface got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jony has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Parrotface has managed to get both his arms back between Jony's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jony striking off his back but it's not causing Parrotface any problems.

Parrotface trying to control the position from guard on top but Jony is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jony is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jony takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jony looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jony being controlled here, momentarily.
Jony wants to stand up but Parrotface is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Parrotface is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Jony is looking to sweep but instead, Parrotface has passed into half guard.
Sgt Parrotface is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jony is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Parrotface pulls his head out easily.
Parrotface content to control rather than advance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jony looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Jony is trying to stand back up but Parrotface is controlling him
Jony Jony has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sgt Parrotface showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Parrotface has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
