Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simon Hayabusa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Muikku Sininen!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayabusa keeps the fight on the outside.
Hayabusa fails to land the takedown.
Sininen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Sininen moves in looking to clinch but Hayabusa pushes him off.
Sininen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sininen tries to clinch but Hayabusa is having none of it.
Hayabusa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sininen tries to clinch there but Hayabusa circles away.
Hayabusa tries to clinch up

and Sininen counters by clinching up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sininen wants a takedown but no success here.
Sininen lands with a short shot to the head.


It looks like Simon Hayabusa has been cut.

Sininen wants to control from the top but Hayabusa keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hayabusa is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Sininen darts in and clinches Hayabusa up against the cage.
Hayabusa has Sininen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sininen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Sininen works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Sininen cracks Hayabusa with a nice body shot.

Sininen wants the takedown. Hayabusa is fighting it off but Sininen persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hayabusa's guard against the cage.

Hayabusa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hayabusa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hayabusa looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hayabusa tries to strike from the bottom.
Hayabusa keeping moving, preventing Sininen from controlling successfully.
Sininen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hayabusa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sininen showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Hayabusa will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sininen doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hayabusa counters by clinching up.

Hayabusa works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hayabusa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sininen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hayabusa has Sininen in his guard.

Sininen stands and steps away. Hayabusa gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Muikku Sininen dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Hayabusa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sininen is looking to regain half guard here but Hayabusa keeps moving and retains side control.
Sininen struggling a bit here.
Sininen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Hayabusa is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sininen scores with a couple of nice shots.

Sininen lands a big shot there that rocks Hayabusa but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Sininen tries to control but Hayabusa wriggling away.
Sininen prevents Hayabusa from getting the reversal.

Sininen cracks Hayabusa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Sininen lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Hayabusa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hayabusa is trying desperately to improve position.
Sininen raining down shots from the mount!

Muikku Sininen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Simon Hayabusa's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Sininen lands with some strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
