PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Victor Camacho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shige Takazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Camacho !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shige Takazaki!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takazaki throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Victor Camacho has been cut.
Camacho tries to clinch but Takazaki is having none of it.
Takazaki clinches but Camacho breaks the clinch

and Camacho counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Takazaki's guard now.

Takazaki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Camacho doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Camacho manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Camacho passes Takazaki's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Camacho is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Takazaki to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Camacho is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Takazaki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Camacho doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Camacho manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Camacho is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Camacho is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Takazaki is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Takazaki has escaped and now he's on top!
Camacho is breathing heavily.

Camacho is working an open guard so Takazaki takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Takazaki wants to clinch but Camacho slips to the side

and Camacho counters with a single leg into guard. Takazaki didn't expect that.

Takazaki manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Camacho manages to get himself to full guard.

Takazaki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Takazaki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Takazaki got a little sloppy there for a moment and Camacho has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Takazaki has managed to get both his arms back between Camacho 's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Takazaki avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Camacho had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Takazaki is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Camacho Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Takazaki's back instead.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Camacho is going olschool here, as he tries to force Takazaki to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Takazaki shrugs it off.

Camacho wants to finish this one by submission but Takazaki is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Camacho .

Camacho is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Takazaki has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Takazaki!

Camacho is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Camacho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Takazaki decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Camacho closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Camacho is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Takazaki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Camacho .

Camacho postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Takazaki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Camacho , into his guard.

Camacho is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Takazaki is defending well though. Camacho let's go of the attempt for now.

Camacho has his foot on Takazaki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Takazaki works his way back into a safe position though.

Takazaki has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Camacho defend it? Takazaki steps over the head and cranks it - Camacho is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Takazaki!
