Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Pace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pace's entrance music is Let The Bodies Hit The Floor. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lashley drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lashley closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pace to the mat! Pace manages to get full guard.

Pace has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pace has control of Lashley's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lashley regains control of the situation pretty easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lashley can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pace wants to work for an arm triangle but Lashley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Lashley is looking to improve his position.
Lashley moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lashley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lashley jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Pace is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Pace and Lashley has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Lashley is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pace knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
