Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Martini!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hansen throws a series of punches but Martini moves out of range.
Some wild striking there from Hansen.
Hansen avoids the head kick by Martini.
Tommy Hansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martini avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hansen tries to clinch there but Martini circles away.

The fighters circle momentarily. Martini darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hansen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hansen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hansen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hansen falls off balance throwing a combination
and Martini counters with a right hand to the body.

Martini has taken the fight to the clinch.

Martini jumps guard but Hansen stands there with Martini around his waist. Martini gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hansen throws a head punch that misses.
Hansen is looking to break free of the clinch but Martini has double underhooks.
Martini stalling the fight.
Hansen misses with some punches.
Martini jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hansen walks away with a smile on his face. Martini gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Martini scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Martini is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hansen is just riding it out for now. Martini eventually gives up the hold.
Martini is taking a breather. Hansen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hansen wants to improve his position but Martini is controlling well.
Hansen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Martini on the ground.
Hansen wants to control but Martini is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Martini is looking to take a break and control but Hansen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martini is thwarting Hansen's attempts to control the position.
Martini trying to mount his opponent but Hansen defends it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hansen avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Martini.
Hansen wants to sweep but Martini has passed to side control!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hansen is trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mario Martini dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hansen tries to clinch but Martini moves away
and Martini counters with a left and a right that stings Hansen.
Martini jabs at Hansen's body.
Hansen looks to clinch
and Martini cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Martini circles away from the clinch attempt

and Martini holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Martini jumps into guard, dragging Hansen to the mat.
Martini keeping moving, preventing Hansen from controlling successfully.

Martini working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hansen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Martini is tightening it up a little... Hansen has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Hansen reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Hansen taps out! nice BJJ there by Martini!
