Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edson Maciel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Canses (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maciel comes to the cage accompanied by Nego Drama. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edson Maciel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rob Canses!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maciel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Canses sprawls well. Canses wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maciel gets slowly back to his feet.

Canses gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Canses throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Maciel wants to stand but Canses has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Maciel could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Canses sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Maciel is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Maciel bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Maciel is fighting off a takedown attempt but Canses is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Maciel to the mat. Maciel regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Canses throws a strike but Maciel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Canses shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Rob Canses comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Canses has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
