Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Aerts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole comes to the cage accompanied by Boom. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole misses with a body kick.
Cole throws a right hand that Aerts ducks under and follows up with a left that Aerts also avoids with ease.
Aerts is looking to clinch.
Cole throws a wild body kick that Aerts sees coming a mile off.
Cole tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Cole counters by clinching up.
Aerts using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cole has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Aerts lands an elbow just above Cole 's eye.

Cole shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Aerts manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Cole has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Joe Cole overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cole's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cole, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
