The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melayo looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Melayo is looking to clinch.
Melayo tries to clinch but Tacklz moves out of range.
Melayo doesn't manage to clinch there - Tacklz circles away.
Melayo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Tacklz misses with a double jab.

Melayo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Melayo lands in his opponent's guard.

Melayo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tacklz sprawls well initially but Melayo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Melayo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Melayo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tacklz tries to kick Melayo off but Melayo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Melayo connects with a nice short shot to Tacklz's temple.
Melayo stops Tacklz from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Melayo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tacklz wants to stand back up but Melayo manages to pass into side control.

Tacklz wants to get back to his feet but Melayo drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Melayo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tacklz to his feet.
Melayo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Melayo doesn't manage to clinch there - Tacklz circles away.
Melayo misses with a wild body shot.
Tacklz stuffs the takedown attempt from Melayo. Melayo gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Babio Melayo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tacklz tries to bum rush Melayo with a series of wild strikes but Melayo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Melayo lands a high kick to the side of Tacklz's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Melayo dives into guard, looking to finish.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tacklz is pressed against the cage. Melayo pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Tacklz! Two more big strikes from Melayo and Tacklz crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!
