PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jari de Mur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tedy Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). de Mur kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is around the world. Hart has chosen Killing In The Name Of as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jari de Mur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tedy Hart!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Mur shoots for a double leg takedown but Hart sprawls well. He's pushed de Mur's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
de Mur looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hart is fending him off so far but de Mur persists. Nope, Hart circles away and we're back to standing.
Hart displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from de Mur.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jari de Mur. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hart leaves de Mur with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
de Mur tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hart swivels and escapes.
Nice takedown defense from de Mur. No joy for Hart on that attempt.

and de Mur counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

de Mur tries to free his leg and advance position but Hart is retaining full guard.

Hart has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but de Mur can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hart had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. de Mur is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hart Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take de Mur's back instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
de Mur manages to reverse the position and now he's in Hart's guard. Nice work there by de Mur.
de Mur pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hart is keeping the position for now.

de Mur drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and de Mur jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
de Mur is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Hart is working for a kimura but de Mur is defending it quite comfortably.

Hart is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hart thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing de Mur to regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hart content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Hart thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

de Mur working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hart looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for de Mur!

de Mur defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hart.
de Mur keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
de Mur is working hard here to advance position.

Hart with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Hart has hold of de Mur's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and de Mur manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tedy Hart dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

de Mur is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hart defends well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hart drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hart jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

de Mur looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Hart is defending well. de Mur quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Hart has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! de Mur celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
