The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nazario shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nazario was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Nazario looking to control but Wasderman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Nazario gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Nazario tries to work over Wasderman's front leg with a kick but Wasderman checks it.
Wasderman pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nazario is out of range and Wasderman settles back down.

Nazario forces Wasderman back against the cage and clinches.

Nazario gets control of Wasderman's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nazario will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wasderman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nazario escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Nazario counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wasderman's guard now.

Nazario drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wasderman dives on top into guard.
Nazario is breathing heavily.
Wasderman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nazario's guard.
Wasderman content to control rather than advance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wasderman stands up and beckons Nazario to join him on the feet.

Nazario shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Nazario isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Wasderman stacks Nazario on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Wasderman!
Wasderman slows the pace down.
I looks like Wasderman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Wasderman throws a strike aimed at the side of Nazario's head but Nazario avoids it well.

That's time! Nazario's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Wasderman will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Nazario is keen to just control but Wasderman is a slippery customer.
Wasderman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wasderman.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wasderman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wasderman in particular looking to stall.
Nazario knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wasderman on the ground.

Wasderman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nazario's head.

Wasderman decides to return to a standing position.

and Nazario counters with a shoot takedown. Wasderman fights it but they end up in guard.
Wasderman seems keen to control Nazario's posture.
Nazario might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wasderman is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Ronaldo Nazario is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nazario circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nazario displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wasderman.
Wasderman tries to bum rush Nazario with a series of wild strikes but Nazario uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Nazario counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wasderman won't be happy with that.
Ronaldo Nazario has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barry Wasderman.
You can see the frustration on Wasderman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wasderman is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Nazario is staying active.
Wasderman manages to work his way to half guard, despite Nazario's best efforts.

Nazario is stalling here. Wasderman is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Nazario seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Wasderman has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Wasderman is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Nazario's shoulder. That is not cool.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Wasderman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Nazario counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Nazario decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wasderman has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Nazario. Oh but Wasderman has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Nazario goes limp - he's gone! Wasderman jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
