Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bri Billick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Weezy Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter has chosen Fireman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bri Billick!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Weezy Carter!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Billick checks a leg kick.
Billick moves out of range of the body kick.
Billick tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance.
Carter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Billick.
Billick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Carter doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Billick counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Billick scoring with some ground and pound.
Carter wants to sweep here but Billick controlling him for the moment.

Carter is working an open guard so Billick takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Billick clinches up against the ropes.

Billick tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Carter is pushing Billick up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Billick jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carter walks away with a smile on his face. Billick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Carter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Billick might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Carter misses with a wild body shot.
Billick doesn't manage to clinch there - Carter circles away.
Billick tries for a takedown but Carter circles away easily
and Carter counters with a lovely shot to the body.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carter shoots and misses

so Billick counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Billick is working Carter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Carter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Billick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Billick lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Billick wants to get up but he can't break Carter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Carter looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Billick puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Carter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bri Billick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Carter won't allow Billick to pass to mount.
Billick is keen to just control but Carter is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carter throws a leg kick which misses Billick's front leg but catches the back leg as Billick tries to avoid it.

Billick regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Carter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Billick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Billick escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Billick is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carter wants to free his trapped foot but Billick is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Billick has one foot on Carter's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Billick shoots in but no luck this time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Carter misses the jab.
Carter throws the left hand but Billick avoids the punch easily.

Carter looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Billick!

Carter is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Billick wants to control but Carter is having none of it.

Carter working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Carter punching from mount but Billick doing a good job of avoiding damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Weezy Carter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

and Billick counters with a head kick. That will keep Carter thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Carter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Weezy Carter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Carter drops back looking for a leg! Billick is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Billick manages to kick Carter off! Carter jumps back into Billick's guard.

Billick pushes Carter off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Bri Billick has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Carter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Weezy Carter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Carter winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
