The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez avoids the head kick by Kyreth.
Gomez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kyreth napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee asks Gomez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Gomez prefers to stall for the moment though.
Gomez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kyreth, who protects the arm well.
Kyreth manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Gomez slips a nice elbow through Kyreth's hands, connecting with Kyreth's forehead.
Gomez maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kyreth could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Gomez has cracked it and Kyreth is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Gomez!
