Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conan Barbarian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barbarian has taken the fight to the clinch.

Smith throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Barbarian escapes and throws Smith's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Smith had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Barbarian is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Smith Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Barbarian's back instead.
Well, with Smith on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Barbarian is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Smith has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Barbarian has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Barbarian is looking to control Smith's arms but Smith gets an underhook and turns him. Now Barbarian has his back to the cage.
Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barbarian walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Barbarian throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Smith is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Barbarian looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Barbarian is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Barbarian eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Barbarian's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Barbarian got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barbarian has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Smith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Barbarian's head.

Smith is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well Barbarian has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
