The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Preston shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Preston moves into full mount! Khaliev won't be happy about that!
Khaliev is looking to improve his position but Preston isn't that keen on the idea.
Khaliev is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Preston pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Khaliev is looking to get to half guard.

Preston is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Preston drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Preston trying to control the position from guard on top but Khaliev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Khaliev working a defensive guard but Preston manages to pass into side control anyway.
Preston has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Khaliev!
Khaliev is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Preston looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Preston is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Khaliev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Preston looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Khaliev is breathing heavily.
Preston not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Khaliev wants to sweep here but Preston controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Preston trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Preston controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Khaliev throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Preston thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Khaliev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Preston looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Khaliev!
Khaliev is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Preston wants to finish this one by submission but Khaliev is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Preston.

Preston working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Khaliev turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Preston off and cradles Khaliev's limp body as Preston celebrates with his corner.
