PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hevos Naama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heilong Liu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Naama comes to the cage accompanied by Slayer - Bloodline. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liu tries a head kick but it misses.
Naama with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Naama throws a right hand that Liu ducks under and follows up with a left that Liu also avoids with ease.
Naama throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Liu throws the kick towards the body but Naama avoids it.
A good leg kick by Naama.
Liu fails with a takedown attempt.
Naama is looking to clinch but Liu is avoiding it.
Naama throws a nice inside leg kick.
Naama looks to land a body kick but Liu moved away.
Naama closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Some wild striking there from Liu.
Liu shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Liu throws an overhand right that lands on Naama's shoulder, as Naama tries to avoid the shot.

Naama moves into range and clinches up with Liu.

Naama escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Naama drives through and clinches with Liu against the cage.

Liu is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Naama pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Hevos Naama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Heilong Liu.

Liu can't find room to land a body shot as Naama controls the action.
Liu jumps guard but Naama stands there with Liu around his waist. Liu gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hevos Naama is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Naama manages to break the clinch.
Naama keeps the fight on the outside.

Liu darts in and clinches Naama up against the cage.
Naama throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Liu breaks from the clinch.
Naama lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Naama lands a nice shot that snaps Liu's head back.

so Liu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Naama wants to control the position but Liu says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Liu content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Naama knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Liu on the ground.

Liu gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Liu comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Naama is looking to clinch.

Liu has closed the distance and engaged Naama in a clinch.
Naama prevents Liu from breaking the clinch.

Naama trying to stall but Liu improves his position.

Liu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Liu takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Liu lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Hevos Naama has been cut.
Liu looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Naama stuffs the takedown attempt from Liu. Liu gets slowly back to his feet.

Naama looks to land a combination but Liu avoids it well.
Liu walks into a stiff left hand from Naama.
Liu slips a jab and a cross from Naama.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A chopping leg kick lands by Naama.
Liu takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Naama wants to clinch but Liu slips to the side
and Liu counters with a good low kick that Naama was not able to check.

and Naama counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Naama.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hevos Naama will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Naama dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Liu. That did some damage!

and Naama counters with a series of strikes. Liu will be more careful next time no doubt.

Liu is rocked!
Liu is holding his hands too far apart here. Naama throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Liu is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
