Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boom Tree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Giles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giles tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tree looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Horrible takedown by Giles or perhaps it was just good defense by Tree which made him look bad.
Tree keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A combination from Tree does no damage.
Tree lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Giles looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tree is fending him off so far but Giles persists. Nope, Tree circles away and we're back to standing.
Boom Tree has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Giles.

Giles gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Tree wants to get up but he can't break Giles's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Tree is fighting to break Giles's control of his arms but Giles is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Tree tries to stand but Giles is controlling from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Giles tries to clinch up but Tree circles away and keeps his distance.
Giles gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Tree counters by moving into the clinch.

Giles tries to pull guard but Tree holds him up against the ropes and eventually Giles drops back down to his feet.
Tree makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Giles fails to pull guard.
Giles goes for a takedown in the clinch but Tree prevents it.
Giles tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tree just stands there and leans against the ropes.

Tree gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Giles is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tree's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tree's back!

Giles is persistently looking for the submission but Tree is defending it well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Tree is trying to defend against the choke here but Giles has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Giles Tightens the hold and Tree taps out furiously! Giles displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
