The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torino leaves Sullivan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Torino wants to clinch up but Sullivan keeps it at a distance.
Torino on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Torino fails in his attempt to clinch.
Torino lands a nice looking body kick.
Torino throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Torino ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sullivan moves away.
Torino throws a sloppy head kick and Sullivan moves out of range easily.

Torino tries to close the distance and clinch but Sullivan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Torino counters with a shoot takedown. Sullivan fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sullivan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Torino is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Sullivan jumps into side control!
Torino is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sullivan asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Sullivan takes Torino's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Torino is in trouble.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sullivan looking to break Torino's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Torino remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sullivan will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Sullivan is trying to stick to Torino's back but Torino is turning into Sullivan. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sullivan's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Torino.

Sullivan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Sullivan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Torino manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sullivan has Torino in his guard.
