Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Kline!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kline shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kline controlling the action here.
Kline wants to take a breather but Velasquez is having none of it.
Velasquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kline is working away from the top position though.
Velasquez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Velasquez tries to get out of the position.
Kline trying to control from half guard but Velasquez is working away.
Kline might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Velasquez kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Velasquez trying to control from the bottom.
Velasquez tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kline has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Velasquez tries to control Kline's body but Kline pushes him off. Velasquez squirms to his side and now Kline has his back!
Well, with Kline on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Velasquez is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Velasquez trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Kline has the hooks in. Velasquez is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Velasquez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kline controlling well, preventing Velasquez from escaping the position.

Kline looking for the RNC.
Velasquez is really stuck here.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Kline not allowing Velasquez to control his hands.

Velasquez is in bad spot here.
Kline is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Velasquez tries to break free.
Velasquez is working hard here to advance position.
Velasquez manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kline's guard. Nice work there by Velasquez.
Kline keeping moving, preventing Velasquez from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kline looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kline pulls Velasquez in close to prevent any damage.
Velasquez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kline not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Velasquez looking to pass the guard.
Velasquez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Kline throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Velasquez wants to control from the top but Kline keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Kline dominated that round.
That's time! Velasquez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Kline counters with a nice uppercut.
Velasquez doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kline counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Velasquez's guard now.
Kline controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Velasquez can't keep his opponent in guard - Kline advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Velasquez tries to kick Kline off in order to stand up. Kline Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Kline is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Velasquez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Velasquez misses with an elbow from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Velasquez is pushing Kline's head away, looking to escape. Kline manages to hold on to the position though.

Kline is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Velasquez looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kline gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Velasquez is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kline lets go of the hold and Velasquez can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nick Kline!
