PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kichii Miyazawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raig Si Zhiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kichii Miyazawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Raig Si Zhiro!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Si Zhiro throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Miyazawa.


It looks like Kichii Miyazawa has been cut.
Si Zhiro misses with a jab, cross combination.
Si Zhiro takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Si Zhiro looks gassed!
Miyazawa throws a combination. Si Zhiro tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Raig Si Zhiro has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Miyazawa moves into the clinch successfully.

Miyazawa has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Si Zhiro clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Miyazawa has good solid back control here.
Miyazawa punishes Si Zhiro with strikes from the back mount.
Miyazawa is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Miyazawa gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Miyazawa gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Miyazawa apologises and we restart here on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Miyazawa's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Miyazawa has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Si Zhiro clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Si Zhiro is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Miyazawa.
Miyazawa lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Miyazawa scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Si Zhiro is looking for a way out.

Si Zhiro turns into Miyazawa and is now in his guard.
Miyazawa pulls Si Zhiro in to control the position.
Miyazawa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Miyazawa looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Miyazawa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Si Zhiro's guard.
Miyazawa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Miyazawa stands up and we're back to a striking position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Miyazawa lands a nice short elbow.

Miyazawa seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Si Zhiro is trying to get back to full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Well, if Miyazawa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miyazawa has closed the distance and engaged Si Zhiro in a clinch.
Miyazawa drops down looking for an ankle pick but Si Zhiro pulls his leg out and moves away.
Si Zhiro misses with a combination

and Miyazawa counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Miyazawa trying to control the position from guard on top but Si Zhiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Miyazawa wants to control from the top but Si Zhiro keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miyazawa is stalling in the full guard.
Si Zhiro is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Miyazawa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Si Zhiro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Miyazawa clinches up against the cage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Miyazawa has Si Zhiro pressed against the cage.

Miyazawa manages to pull guard.
Si Zhiro stopping the sweep attempt from Miyazawa.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miyazawa is looking for a sweep. Si Zhiro is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Miyazawa trying to get back to full guard but Si Zhiro takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Si Zhiro is trying to take his opponent's back.
Miyazawa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Si Zhiro forces the positional change into back control.
Miyazawa is trying to break free.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Miyazawa looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Si Zhiro is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Miyazawa is defending well though. Si Zhiro let's go of the attempt for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Miyazawa breaks Si Zhiro's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kichii Miyazawa dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Miyazawa has taken the fight to the clinch.
Si Zhiro takes an elbow to the temple.
A knee to the head by Miyazawa.
Miyazawa lands a knee to the head.

Miyazawa successfully pulls guard.
Si Zhiro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Miyazawa lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Si Zhiro!
Si Zhiro takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Si Zhiro is squirming around, avoiding Miyazawa's attempts to control the action.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Miyazawa is landing with some decent strikes but Si Zhiro is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Miyazawa fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Miyazawa lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Miyazawa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Miyazawa wants to control the pace but Si Zhiro is squirming around nicely.

Miyazawa landing strikes, looking to finish!
Miyazawa pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Si Zhiro takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Kichii Miyazawa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Miyazawa content just to control the position here.
Raig Si Zhiro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Si Zhiro tries to get back to half guard but can't.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kichii Miyazawa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Miyazawa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
