The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kares has a takedown stuffed.
A chopping leg kick lands by Szleszynski.
Kares is looking to clinch.
Kares shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Szleszynski sprawls well. Szleszynski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kares gets slowly back to his feet.
Kares shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Szleszynski pinned against the cage. Szleszynski gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gaje Kares. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kares is breathing heavily.

Szleszynski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kares's guard.
Kares might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kares escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Szleszynski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Szleszynski keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kares's head.
Szleszynski wants to pass the guard but Kares is keeping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Szleszynski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Szleszynski has an Americana. Kares didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Szleszynski is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Szleszynski hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
