Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ulf Eriksson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mayhem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eriksson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mayhem as he jumps to the side.
Mayhem cracks Eriksson with a right hand to the side of the head.
John Mayhem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mayhem fails to land with a series of punches.
Mayhem swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Mayhem tries to keep at a distance but Eriksson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mayhem wants a takedown.

Mayhem has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Eriksson is trying to keep an underhook but Mayhem manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Mayhem stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Mayhem lands with a hook. Eriksson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mayhem misses with a takedown

and Eriksson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mayhem can't break the clinch.
Mayhem has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Eriksson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ulf Eriksson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Mayhem.
Mayhem is working for takedown but Eriksson is calmly controlling the position for now.

Eriksson manages to break the clinch.
Eriksson shoots in and drives through. Mayhem sprawls well.
Mayhem is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Eriksson.

Mayhem shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mayhem showed some decent athleticism there.

Eriksson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Mayhem wants to get up but he can't break Eriksson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mayhem has gone for a leg lock! Eriksson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mayhem's guard.

Eriksson is trying to control. Mayhem wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Eriksson wants to free his trapped foot but Mayhem is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Eriksson is trying to control the action in half guard but Mayhem is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Mayhem has one foot on Eriksson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
A left and a right from Mayhem both land. Nice combination.

and Eriksson counters with a series of strikes. Mayhem will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Eriksson counters with a single leg into guard. Mayhem didn't expect that.

Mayhem looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Eriksson passes Mayhem's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Eriksson tries to pass to full mount but Mayhem defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eriksson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mayhem kicks off Eriksson and gets to his feet.
Mayhem keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mayhem lands a slapping body shot.
Mayhem stalks Eriksson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Eriksson's face. Eriksson staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mayhem wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Eriksson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mayhem circles away.
Donk. Mayhem catches Eriksson right on the button with a cross.
Mayhem scores with a jab. Eriksson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Mayhem shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mayhem was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mayhem looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mayhem goes for an armbar but Eriksson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Eriksson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eriksson looks to score with a jab to the body but Mayhem is just out of range.

Mayhem shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Eriksson is trying to defend but Mayhem finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Mayhem is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Eriksson defends it well.
Eriksson is trying to maintain the position but Mayhem is very close to passing his half guard.
Mayhem tries to stand but can't do so whilst Eriksson controls his leg.

Mayhem wants to work for an arm triangle but Eriksson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mayhem is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mayhem fails with the takedown.

Mayhem feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mayhem wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Eriksson's closed guard. He's half up but Eriksson has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Eriksson pivots and extends the arm, Mayhem falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Eriksson! Well done that man!
