PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Nobre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dragan Davydenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nobre kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kanye West ft. Jamie Foxx- Gold Digger. Miguel Nobre had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Nobre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dragan Davydenko!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nobre shoots for a double leg takedown but Davydenko sprawls well. He's pushed Nobre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nobre gets a takedown into half guard.
Davydenko wants to get back to his feet.

Nobre wants to work for an arm triangle but Davydenko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nobre is just content to waste time from the top position. Davydenko takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Davydenko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nobre gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nobre is looking to clinch but Davydenko is avoiding it.
Nobre looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Davydenko is fending him off so far but Nobre persists. Nope, Davydenko circles away and we're back to standing.
Nobre is breathing heavily.
Nobre dives in and grabs Davydenko's left leg, looking for a takedown. Davydenko pushes down on Nobre's head and hops out.

Nobre drops back looking for a leg! Davydenko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davydenko manages to kick Nobre off! Nobre jumps back into Davydenko's guard.

Nobre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davydenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nobre has his foot on Davydenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davydenko works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Davydenko closes the distance and clinches.
Davydenko is pressed up against the cage. Nobre has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Davydenko down to the mat. Davydenko avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Nobre jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davydenko walks away with a smile on his face. Nobre gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Dragan Davydenko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Davydenko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
