Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Petr Petrovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Petrovich comes into the arena with Soviet Anthem blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrovich misses with a double jab.
Petrovich darts in and clinches Newman up against the cage.
Petrovich tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Newman's elbow.
Petrovich jumps guard.
Petrovich is trying to keep Newman in close.
Newman pushes down on Petrovich's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Newman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Petrovich doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Newman.

Newman wants to stand up but Petrovich is controlling the position.
Petrovich is looking to control Newman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Petrovich avoid being mounted?

Newman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Petrovich defends it well.
Petrovich is trying to get back to full guard.
Petrovich is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Newman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Newman's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Newman wants to escape the position.
Petrovich throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Newman!
Petrovich is not going to allow Newman to sit and survive in this position.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Petrovich gets his hands free as Newman looks to control.
Petrovich is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Newman has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Newman can't escape the position.
Newman looks gassed!

You can see the frustration on Newman's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Petrovich is persistently looking for the submission but Newman is defending it well.

Petrovich is riding his opponent, not letting Newman buck him off.
Petrovich is hanging on to Newman's back as he tries to escape.

Petrovich has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Newman's body.
