Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Camel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Camel !
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Camel is refusing to be controlled, as Wright sits in half guard.
Camel tries to roll over but Wright keeps him under control.

Camel looking for submissions off his back.

Wright is looking for a kimura but Camel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wright to get the leverage.

Wright is keen to just control but Camel is a slippery customer.
Wright looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Camel tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Camel avoids a punch combination nicely.

Camel fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wright sprawls well initially but Camel persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Camel is looking to advance position but Wright won't allow it.

Camel is working Wright over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Camel wants to pass the guard but Wright is keeping the position.

Wright has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Camel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wright wants to sweep here but Camel controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Camel stands up over Wright, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Camel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wright swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Camel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Camel thows a big elbow that misses.
Wright tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Camel shoots in and bounces Wright off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Camel drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wright dives on top into guard.

Camel has his foot on Wright's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wright works his way back into a safe position though.

Wright drops back looking for a leg! Camel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Camel manages to kick Wright off! Wright jumps back into Camel 's guard.
Camel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Camel prevents Wright from standing back up.
Camel wants to free his trapped foot but Wright is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Wright on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wright tries to get out of the position.
Camel frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Wright is bucking up trying to escape but Camel cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wright wants to hold on but Camel pushes him away.
Wright throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Camel lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Camel is working for a guillotine from mount but Wright frees his head quite easily.
Wright tries to hold on but Camel postures up.
Wright is bucking up trying to escape but Camel cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Wright tries to reverse the position but Camel maintains control.
Camel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Camel looking for a guillotine from mount but Wright is having none of it.
Wright squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Camel dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Camel drives through with a takedown into guard.
Joe Camel has got the better of the ground game so far.

Camel thows a big elbow that misses.
Camel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wright swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wright bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Camel 's guard.

Wright is working hard here to advance position.

Wright drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Camel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Wright has Camel in his guard.

Wright is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Camel defends well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Camel passes Wright's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Wright moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Wright keeping moving, preventing Camel from controlling successfully.

Wright working for a triangle but Camel defends it easily.

Wright looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Wright throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wright working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Camel .
Camel trying to control the position from guard on top but Wright is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Camel looking to sit in guard and control but Wright gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wright trying to control but Camel is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Camel doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Wright counters with a takedown into side control.

Wright is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Camel looks calm but he's in trouble here. Wright gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Camel is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Wright lets go of the hold and Camel can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Thomas Wright!
