The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leary shoots for a double leg takedown but Kai sprawls well. He's pushed Leary's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Leary shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kai pinned against the cage. Kai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Leary gets the takedown into side control.
Kai is looking to regain half guard here but Leary keeps moving and retains side control.
