Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Halperin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Elliot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halperin comes to the cage accompanied by I am going to kill you (with the help of Muno). Elliot has chosen Party Up as his entrance music. Daniel Halperin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Halperin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Elliot!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halperin fails with a takedown attempt.

Halperin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Elliot napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Halperin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Halperin tries for a kimura but Elliot is defending well.
Halperin tries to advance to mount but can't.
Elliot is looking for a sweep.
Halperin throws an elbow but Elliot slips to the side and avoids it well.
Elliot is looking for a sweep.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Halperin shoots in looking for a takedown. Elliot tries to sprawl out of it but Halperin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Elliot manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Halperin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Elliot sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Halperin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Halperin.
Elliot throws out a leg kick but Halperin moves out of range and Elliot only half commits.
Halperin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Elliot's waist but Elliot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Halperin off to one side.
Halperin shoots in for a takedown but Elliot shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Elliot throws a looping overhand right but Halperin ducks down to avoid it.

Elliot decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Halperin is breathing heavily.
Elliot working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Elliot looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Elliot prevents Halperin from improving his position.
Halperin missing with punches from the bottom.

Elliot is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Halperin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Elliot.
Elliot wants to free his trapped foot but Halperin is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Elliot is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Elliot shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Halperin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Elliot trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Elliot is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Halperin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Elliot gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Halperin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Elliot passes into half guard.

Elliot looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cole Elliot dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Elliot closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Halperin prevents Elliot from moving into mount.

Elliot thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Halperin sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Halperin manages to get to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Elliot tries to free his leg and advance position but Halperin is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Elliot trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Halperin has his feet on Elliot's thighs here. He's pushed Elliot off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Elliot screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Daniel Halperin!
