Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between PJ Rawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mika Hankaniemi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hankaniemi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Cannibal Corpse - Make Them Suffer. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rawson has managed to clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hankaniemi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rawson is just riding it out for now. Hankaniemi eventually gives up the hold.

Hankaniemi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rawson defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rawson tries to roll over but Hankaniemi keeps him under control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hankaniemi is trying to work for a kimura but Rawson is defending well.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hankaniemi goes for a takedown attempt but Rawson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Rawson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rawson lands a with a good body shot.

Rawson rushes Hankaniemi and presses him up against the cage.

Rawson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rawson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Mika Hankaniemi has been cut.

Hankaniemi shoots for a double leg takedown but Rawson sprawls well. He's pushed Hankaniemi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rawson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hankaniemi is desperately trying to improve his position but Rawson has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
