The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole digs a good body shot into Anselmo's ribs.

Anselmo closes the distance and clinches.

Cole tries to break the clinch but Anselmo is controlling the position.

Cole trying to control the position from guard on top but Anselmo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cole postures up and lands a big shot to Anselmo's brow.
Cole tries to free his leg and advance position but Anselmo is retaining full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cole accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cole missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Cole stands and steps away. Anselmo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Cole fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anselmo manages to avoid it.
Anselmo tries a head kick but it misses.
Cole displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anselmo.
Cole connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Anselmo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cole jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Anselmo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cole scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Cole lunges at Anselmo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Anselmo's hand.
Anselmo shoots in for a takedown but Cole shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Anselmo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cole wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Anselmo is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Anselmo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cole pinned against the cage. Cole gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cole drops Anselmo with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Anselmo! Cole dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
