Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinyo Aogi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Nanahara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aogi comes into the arena with "Baka Survivor" by Ulfus blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinyo Aogi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshi Nanahara!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aogi has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Nanahara throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Aogi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Aogi has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nanahara finds it's way round the side to connect with Aogi's head.

Nanahara rushes Aogi and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Nanahara pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Aogi looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Nanahara rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Aogi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Oh Aogi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Aogi seems to have got his legs back now.
Nanahara throws a front kick that sends Aogi stumbling back into the ropes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aogi has his foot on Nanahara's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nanahara works his way back into a safe position though.
Nanahara must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Aogi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Nanahara stacks Aogi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Nanahara!

Nanahara feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nanahara wants to get up but he can't break Aogi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Aogi doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Nanahara has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
