Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alfie Shade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rico Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alfie Shade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rico Drake!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shade tries to clinch but Drake moves out of range.
Shade throws a series of punches but Drake moves out of range.
Drake fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Shade looks for the body kick but Drake saw that one coming.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Shade.

Shade thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Drake's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Drake tries to buck Shade off but Shade is having none of it.
Shade grinds an elbow into Drake's temple.

Drake looks for a takedown but Shade sprawls well.

and Drake counters with a right hand to the body.

Shade doesn't manage to clinch there - Drake circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shade throws some wild stikes that Drake manages to avoid easily.

Shade goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Drake is on top in guard.

Shade changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Drake tries to avoid it but Shade manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Drake to the ground. Drake escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Drake tries to roll over but Shade keeps him under control.

Shade is working for a kimura but Drake is defending it quite comfortably.
Shade is thwarting Drake's attempts to control the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shade thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Drake's head.
Drake works his way to full guard. Good work.

Shade avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Shade manages to reverse the position and now he's in Drake's guard. Nice work there by Shade.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Shade looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Drake is fending him off so far but Shade persists. Nope, Drake circles away and we're back to standing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Drake pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Drake - that will leave a mark!
A nice combination there by Drake.
Shade does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Drake lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Drake scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
A head kick misses from Drake.
Drake stalks Shade and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Shade's face. Shade staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Drake is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shade sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Rico Drake showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Shade avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Shade closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Drake to the mat! Drake manages to get full guard.
Shade is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Drake isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Shade stacks Drake on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Shade!

Shade drops back looking for a leg! Drake is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Drake manages to kick Shade off! Shade jumps back into Drake's guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Drake is looking to stand up but Shade isn't so interested in that idea.

Drake working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shade doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shade manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Drake looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Shade has picked Drake up and slammed him! Drake can't keep hold of the triangle and Shade manages to pass to side control!

Shade decides to stand back up.
Shade circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shade tries for a takedown but Drake sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Drake moves out of range of the body kick.

Drake connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Drake scores with a jab to the jaw.

Drake gets caught flat footed, as Shade shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Shade avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Drake throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Shade working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Drake wants to stand and escape but Shade is having none of it.
Shade working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Shade with a flurry of punches that miss.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Drake throws a wild body kick that Shade sees coming a mile off.
Shade takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Shade feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Drake is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shade is controlling him.
