Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sold Snaek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snaek shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Powers as he jumps to the side.
Powers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Powers defending well as Snaek loads up on a big left hand.
Snaek throws a big shot that misses.

and Powers counters with a nice uppercut.
Powers misses with a jab, cross combination.
Powers shoots in for a double leg but Snaek sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Snaek fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sold Snaek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Snaek connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Powers is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Snaek postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Snaek postures up in Powers's guard and throws a big left but Powers blocks it.
Snaek throws a big right hand that misses.
Snaek throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Powers works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Snaek is looking to work some ground and pound but Powers has wrist control.
Snaek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Powers wants to stand and escape but Snaek is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Snaek is looking to clinch but Powers is avoiding it.

Powers throws a right and a left that both miss.
Snaek sizes up Powers with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Powers swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Snaek looks to land a right hand but Powers moved out of range.
Snaek tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Powers was well out of range. Poor timing from Snaek.
Snaek throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Snaek clinches up with Powers and pushes him back against the cage.

Snaek breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Powers swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Snaek throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Snaek just misses with a punch to the body.
Powers walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Snaek lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Powers misses with the combination.
Snaek misses with a straight right.
Powers moves away from the strike by Snaek.
Snaek on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Snaek pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Powers ducks under a wild hook from Snaek.
Powers tries to bum rush Snaek with a series of wild strikes but Snaek uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snaek dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Snaek throws a shot from downtown. Powers moves away and avoids it.
Snaek looks to land a right hand but Powers moved out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sold Snaek dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Snaek lands with a hook. Powers tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Snaek shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Powers defends it nicely.
Powers ducks under a wild hook from Snaek.
Snaek leaves Powers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Powers counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Snaek off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Powers follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Snaek was out before he hit the floor.
