Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darren Swagger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Jaxzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swagger comes to the cage accompanied by Song 2 by Blur. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swagger lands a big head kick that sends Jaxzon tumbling to the mat! Swagger takes a step backwards and waves Jaxzon back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Swagger doesn't manage to clinch there - Jaxzon circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jaxzon.
Swagger misses with a wild combination.
Jaxzon fails with the takedown.
Swagger moves in looking to clinch but Jaxzon pushes him off.

Swagger tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Swagger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jaxzon's guard.

Swagger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jaxzon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Swagger has managed to get both his arms back between Jaxzon's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jaxzon wants to control but Swagger is having none of it.

Swagger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jaxzon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Swagger is working away from the top position though.

Swagger decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Swagger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jaxzon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jaxzon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Swagger keeps working.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Darren Swagger will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jaxzon doesn't manage to clinch there - Swagger circles away.
Jaxzon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Swagger sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jaxzon somewhat.

Jaxzon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
