Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Spike Scrool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomes has chosen Mike de Mosqueiro as his entrance music. Matheus Gomes struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scrool has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Scrool tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gomes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Scrool somewhat.
Scrool walks into a jab.
Gomes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Scrool circles away quickly and effectively.
Scrool closes the distance and clinches up with Gomes, looking for a takedown. Scrool pushes Gomes against the ropes but Gomes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gomes lands with a nice combination. Scrool backs away looking to recover.
Gomes scores with a nice strike.
Gomes scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gomes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gomes is looking to clinch.
Scrool dives in and grabs Gomes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gomes pushes down on Scrool's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spike Scrool. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gomes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Scrool, pushing him back against the ropes.

Gomes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gomes doesn't manage to clinch there - Scrool circles away.

Scrool gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Gomes looks like he's trying to stand up.

Scrool is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Gomes has managed to free his arm - good work.

Scrool is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gomes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Scrool.

Gomes kicks Scrool off and gets back to his feet.

Gomes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Scrool paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Scrool looks for a takedown but Gomes sprawls well.
Gomes wants to clinch up but Scrool keeps it at a distance.

Scrool shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Scrool was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

You get the feeling that Gomes really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Gomes is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Scrool locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Gomes is forced to tap!
