The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards checks a leg kick.
Richards throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Richards tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A slapping leg kick lands for Richards.
Nice body kick from Richards.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sommers.
Sommers tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Richards uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sommers.
Sommers throws a push kick but Richards slaps the foot to one side.
Richards lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Richards misses with a takedown
and Sommers decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Richards's guard.
Sommers tries to free his leg and advance position but Richards is retaining full guard.
Richards working a defensive guard but Sommers manages to pass into side control anyway.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sommers staying calm.
Sommers advances nicely into full mount.

Sommers lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Richards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sommers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sommers lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Richards hang on?

Sommers lands a big shot there that rocks Richards but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
