Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Balboa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Popper!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa tries to clinch up but Popper circles away and keeps his distance.
Balboa connects with a looping right hand.

Popper jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Balboa is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Balboa and Popper has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Popper shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Balboa sprawls well. Balboa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Popper gets slowly back to his feet.

Rafael Balboa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Popper.

Balboa lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Balboa bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Popper's head backwards.

Popper is still on wobbly legs! Can Balboa finish him?
Popper gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Balboa.
Balboa closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Popper! Balboa dives in looking to finish! Popper is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rafael Balboa!
