The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sylva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sylva lands in his opponent's guard.

Sylva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rustoff misses with a takedown

and Sylva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rustoff won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rustoff is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Rustoff wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Sylva seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Rustoff is tapping! Wow, great finish!
