PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kamaz Otstoev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashur Perun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perun has chosen Judith as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kamaz Otstoev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ashur Perun!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perun throws an overhand right that lands on Otstoev's shoulder, as Otstoev tries to avoid the shot.
Perun misses the jab.
Otstoev moves out of range as Perun strikes.
The fighters circling - Perun throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ashur Perun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Otstoev looks for a takedown but Perun sprawls well.
Perun just misses with a punch to the body.
Perun scores with a shot to the body.
Perun rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Otstoev moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Perun fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Otstoev manages to avoid it.
A jab lands there for Perun.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Perun throws a sloppy head kick and Otstoev moves out of range easily.
Perun smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Perun throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Otstoev stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Otstoev is breathing heavily.
Perun lands a nice shot to the body.
Perun throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Perun takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perun lands a jab to Otstoev's midsection.
Perun tries to bum rush Otstoev with a series of wild strikes but Otstoev uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Perun jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Perun misses with an uppercut. Otstoev saw that one coming.
Perun is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Perun throws out a leg kick but Otstoev moves out of range and Perun only half commits.
A big right from Perun misses.
Perun lands a big shot that drops Otstoev! Can he finish him?


Otstoev is rocked!
Otstoev has a closed guard, preventing Perun from standing up.
Oh Otstoev is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Perun stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Otstoev seems to have got his legs back now.
Perun cracks a nice hook into Otstoev's ribs.

Perun ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Perun scores with a jab to the body.
Perun cracks Otstoev with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Perun lands with a nice body punch.
Perun throws a right and a left that Otstoev avoids nicely.
Perun slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Perun cracks a nice hook into Otstoev's ribs.
Perun is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!Otstoev had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Perun waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Otstoev. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Otstoev to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Perun gets to his feet - Otstoev follows without any prompting.
Perun works Otstoev's body with a nice hook.
Perun cracks Otstoev with a big right hand and Otstoev goes down!
Perun wants to get up but he can't break Otstoev's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Perun connects with a couple of short punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Otstoev looking to control.
Perun really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Otstoev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Otstoev looking for a guillotine here but Perun defends easily.
Perun won't allow Otstoev to get back to his feet.

Perun gets to his feet - Otstoev follows without any prompting.
Perun throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Perun loads up on a big right hand but Otstoev slips the punch.
Otstoev wants to clinch up but Perun keeps it at a distance.
A jab lands there for Perun.
Perun scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Perun has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Perun connects with a good right hand that stumbles Otstoev. Otstoev circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Perun misses with an uppercut. Otstoev saw that one coming.
Perun catches Otstoev napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Otstoev to the canvas!
Perun must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Perun wants to stand but Otstoev has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Perun avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Otstoev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Otstoev wants to sweep here but Perun controlling him for the moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Perun tries to stand but Otstoev is controlling from the bottom.
Otstoev tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ashur Perun dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Perun throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Otstoev sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Perun scores with a decent looking hook.
Kamaz Otstoev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Otstoev staying out of range there.
Perun fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Otstoev is out of range.
Perun keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Perun takes a swing at Otstoev's ribcage but misses.
Perun lands a right hook to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Perun throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Otstoev sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Perun throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Otstoev tumbling to the canvas!
Perun has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Perun stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Nice sprawl there from Perun as Otstoev shoots in.
Perun circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Otstoev tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Perun wins by KO!
