Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Del Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Roscoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roscoe is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Forgot About Dre. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Del Soto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damien Roscoe!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Del Soto fails with the takedown.
Del Soto shoots for a takedown but Roscoe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Roscoe tries to clinch there but Del Soto circles away.
Damien Roscoe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some wild striking there from Roscoe.
Del Soto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roscoe pinned against the cage. Roscoe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguel Del Soto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Del Soto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Roscoe as he avoids it easily.

Roscoe forces Del Soto back against the cage and clinches.
Roscoe prevents the takedown attempt.
Del Soto prevents Roscoe from breaking the clinch.

Del Soto is working for takedown but Roscoe is calmly controlling the position for now.
Roscoe lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Del Soto changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Roscoe fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Roscoe moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Roscoe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Del Soto paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Roscoe stuffs the takedown.
Del Soto shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Roscoe defends it nicely.

Del Soto closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Del Soto lands in his opponent's guard.
Del Soto is breathing heavily.
Roscoe tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Roscoe keeping moving, preventing Del Soto from controlling successfully.
Roscoe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Del Soto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Roscoe looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Del Soto won't allow Roscoe to get back to his feet.

Del Soto decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Del Soto swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Roscoe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Del Soto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Roscoe!

Roscoe regains half guard.

Del Soto is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Roscoe is looking to escape.
Roscoe is not content to let Del Soto control the position.
Roscoe gets full guard.
Roscoe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Del Soto postures up and lands a big shot to Roscoe's brow.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Del Soto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Del Soto trying to control but Roscoe is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Roscoe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Del Soto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Del Soto is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Del Soto tries to escape but Roscoe is in control.
Roscoe throws a strike aimed at the side of Del Soto's head but Del Soto avoids it well.
Roscoe scores with a couple of short elbows.
Del Soto is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Roscoe has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Roscoe trying to control the position but Del Soto is working away.

Roscoe tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Roscoe postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Roscoe trying to control the action but Del Soto is working from the bottom.
Del Soto is looking for a sweep.
Roscoe taking a break here but Del Soto is having none of it and regains half guard.
Roscoe seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Roscoe scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Del Soto pushes Roscoe away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Roscoe gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damien Roscoe dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Del Soto misses with a takedown

so Roscoe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Roscoe wants to control from the top but Del Soto keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Del Soto manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Del Soto breaks from Roscoe's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Del Soto with shots to the head and body - Roscoe looks very uncomfortable down there.
Del Soto content just to control the position here.
Del Soto scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Roscoe?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Roscoe is looking to improve his position but Del Soto isn't that keen on the idea.
Roscoe is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Del Soto has control of Roscoe's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Roscoe regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Del Soto trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Del Soto is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Roscoe is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Del Soto tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Roscoe is in all sorts of trouble here.
Roscoe is trying to reverse the position but instead Del Soto has taken his back - oops!

Del Soto has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Roscoe tries to break free.
Miguel Del Soto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Roscoe looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Del Soto looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Roscoe taps!
