The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wittman moves away from the strike by Gonnalose.
Gonnalose connects with a crisp jab.
Gonnalose looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gonnalose defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wittman.
Wittman closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Wittman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gonnalose sprawls well initially but Wittman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wittman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gonnalose can do anything to dispel that myth.
