Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Guerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diego Guerra is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tommy Oliver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Guerra!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliver throws a hook but Guerra blocks it.
Oliver misses with a two punch combination.

Oliver gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Guerra to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Guerra postures up.
Guerra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Oliver wants to stand and escape but Guerra is having none of it.
Guerra trying to control but Oliver is working from the bottom.

Guerra lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Oliver keeping moving, preventing Guerra from controlling successfully.
Guerra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oliver swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Oliver looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Guerra puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Guerra is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oliver doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Guerra.

Guerra working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Guerra lands with a punch from half guard.
Guerra is looking to advance position but Oliver won't allow it.

Guerra wants to work for an arm triangle but Oliver is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Guerra got a little sloppy there for a moment and Oliver has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Guerra has managed to get both his arms back between Oliver's legs - danger averted.
Oliver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Guerra is controlling him.
Guerra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Oliver is keeping the position for now.

Guerra scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Guerra trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Oliver working for a triangle but Guerra defends it easily.

Oliver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Guerra is controlling him.

Guerra decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Oliver, up you get!

Guerra closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Oliver on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Guerra is nestled in close to Oliver, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Guerra lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Guerra looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Oliver wants to control but Guerra is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's time! Oliver's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Guerra shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Guerra is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Oliver sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oliver wants to get back to his feet.

Guerra is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Oliver is trying to stand back up but Guerra is controlling him
Oliver flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Guerra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Guerra avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Oliver wants to clinch up but Guerra keeps it at a distance.
Diego Guerra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oliver doesn't manage to clinch there - Guerra circles away.

Guerra feints and as Oliver raises his hands in defense, Guerra changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Oliver looking for a sweep. Not yet Oliver, not yet.
Guerra is in close to Oliver's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Oliver is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Oliver had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Guerra is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Oliver Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Guerra's back instead.

Oliver is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Guerra tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Oliver trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Guerra wants to control but Oliver is having none of it.
Guerra might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Oliver kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Guerra tries to reverse the position but Oliver maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oliver wants to control the pace but Guerra is squirming around nicely.

Guerra takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Oliver drops an elbow to the side of Guerra's head.

It looks like Oliver is going to stand back up.
Guerra flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Oliver throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Guerra makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Guerra.

Guerra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Oliver doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oliver manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Diego Guerra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Guerra shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Oliver is trying to defend but Guerra finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Guerra winds up and cracks Oliver with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Guerra tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Guerra has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Oliver wants to control but Guerra is having none of it.
Tommy Oliver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Guerra tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Diego Guerra comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Guerra has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
