Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brick Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brick Willis!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willis looks to land a combination but Murray avoids it well.
Murray lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Willis at a distance.
Willis looks to land a right hand but Murray moved out of range.
Murray swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Brick Willis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Willis thows a body shot but no joy.
Willis looks to land a combination but Murray avoids it well.
Murray lands a nice looking body shot.
Murray works Willis's body with a nice hook.
A telegraphed right hand from Murray misses the target.

and Willis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Murray's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Willis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Murray as he avoids it easily.

Willis takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Murray swings for the body but Willis moves out of range.
Murray throws a series of strikes that have Willis backpedaling.

and Murray counters with a three punch combo that has Willis backing up. Willis nods at Murray to acknowledge the strikes.
Murray lands with a hook. Willis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Murray rushes Willis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Willis throws an elbow that misses.

Willis is trying to trip Murray. He has hold of a leg but Murray is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Willis persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Willis throws a strike but Murray rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Willis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Murray is staying active underneath Willis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Murray on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Murray tries to get out of the position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Willis lands a nice short elbow.
Willis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Willis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Murray does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brick Willis will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Willis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Murray misses with a looping right.
Willis shoots and misses
and Murray connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Murray throws a hook but Willis avoids it easily.

Murray bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Willis misses with a low kick.
Willis misses with an uppercut. Murray saw that one coming.

Murray feints and as Willis raises his hands in defense, Murray changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Willis doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Murray gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A right-left combo lands from Murray.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Willis lands with an overhand left.
Nice uppercut lands for Willis. That snapped Murray's head back.
Willis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Willis closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Murray stuffs the takedown.
Willis stalks Murray and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Murray's face. Murray staggers backwards, shaken.

Murray is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Murray steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Willis.
Murray fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Willis looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The fighters circling - Murray throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Murray wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Murray counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Willis shoots in looking for a takedown. Murray tries to sprawl out of it but Willis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Murray manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

so Murray counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Willis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Murray passes into side control.

Willis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Murray's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Murray's back!
Murray wants to get back to his feet.

Willis punches the canvas rather than the man.
Murray is trying to stand back up.

Murray takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Willis somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Willis is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Murray knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Murray for a finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Murray shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Willis shoots in looking for a takedown. Murray tries to sprawl out of it but Willis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Murray manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Murray throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Willis on the side of the head.
Willis scores with a one two! Murray had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Donk. Murray catches Willis right on the button with a cross.

and Willis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Willis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Willis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Murray tries to avoid it but Willis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Murray to the ground. Murray escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Murray takes a swing at Willis's ribcage but misses.
Willis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Murray counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Willis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Brick Willis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Willis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
