Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cro Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cro Cop!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cop gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cop can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cop looking to hit a scissor sweep but Robinson is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Randy Robinson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Cop gets caught flat footed, as Robinson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Robinson stands and throws Cop's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Cop tries to buck Robinson off but Robinson is having none of it.
Cop seems a little lost for a moment, as Robinson dominates the positioning.
Cop prevents Robinson from moving into mount.
Robinson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cop drives through and clinches with Robinson against the cage.

Cop working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Robinson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Robinson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cop misses with a takedown

and Robinson counters with a takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Robinson stalls from top position.
Robinson is looking to take a break and control but Cop is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Robinson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Cop's shoulder. That is not cool.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Randy Robinson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Cop.
Robinson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Cop closes the distance and clinches.

Cop is pressed up against the cage. Robinson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cop down to the mat. Cop avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Robinson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Cop can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Robinson controls the pace.

Robinson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cop swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cop has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Robinson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Robinson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cop for as long as he can get away with.

Robinson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cop's guard.
Cop has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Robinson is working away from the top position though.
Robinson is looking to advance position but Cop won't allow it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Robinson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
