The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rtuwi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Santana avoids it really well and circles away.
Rtuwi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Santana as he jumps to the side.
Santana moves in looking to clinch but Rtuwi pushes him off.
Santana tries to keep at a distance but Rtuwi has taken the fight into the clinch.
Santana tries to pull guard but Rtuwi holds him up against the cage and eventually Santana drops back down to his feet.
Rtuwi looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sandro Rtuwi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rtuwi has picked Santana up - he's going for a ride! Rtuwi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Santana makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Horrible takedown by Rtuwi or perhaps it was just good defense by Santana which made him look bad.
Rtuwi tries to close the distance and clinch but Santana swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Santana defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rtuwi.
Santana looks to clinch
and Rtuwi counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Santana wants to sweep but no luck.
Santana is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rtuwi rolls with it to try and escape but Santana cranks on the arm and Rtuwi is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
