Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Maximillion Dirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arek Szleszynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dirk comes to the cage accompanied by Mack the Knife. The crowd seem to be enjoying Szleszynski's choice of entrance music: Disturbed - Voices. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szleszynski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dirk's waist but Dirk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Szleszynski off to one side.
Dirk throws a big shot that misses.
Dirk misses with an uppercut. Szleszynski saw that one coming.
Szleszynski moves away from the strike by Dirk.
Dirk connects with a looping right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Szleszynski uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dirk.
Dirk throws a hook to the side of Szleszynski's head but Szleszynski sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Dirk looks to score with a jab to the body but Szleszynski is just out of range.
Szleszynski uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dirk.
Dirk closes the distance and clinches.

Szleszynski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dirk tries to avoid it but Szleszynski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dirk to the ground. Dirk escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dirk looks to throw the jab but Szleszynski is out of range.
Szleszynski bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Szleszynski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dirk throws out the jab.

Dirk lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Dirk throws a low kick, looking for Szleszynski's leg but Szleszynski calmly moves out of range.
Dirk lands a right hook to the body.
Szleszynski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dirk counters with a three punch combo that has Szleszynski backing up. Szleszynski nods at Dirk to acknowledge the strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dirk walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Szleszynski checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Dirk throws a hook to the side of Szleszynski's head but Szleszynski sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Szleszynski is working for takedown but Dirk is calmly controlling the position for now.

Dirk looks to land a left hand but Szleszynski moved out of range nicely.

Dirk throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Dirk throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Szleszynski counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dirk on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dirk tries to get out of the position.
Szleszynski won't allow Dirk to sweep him here.
Szleszynski won't allow Dirk to get back to his feet.
Dirk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dirk bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Szleszynski's guard.

Dirk gets to his feet. Szleszynski looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dirk fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Szleszynski checks it well.
Szleszynski walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Szleszynski takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dirk throws a looping overhand right but Szleszynski ducks down to avoid it.
Dirk takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Szleszynski drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Maximillion Dirk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dirk, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
