PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manni Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Cappuccino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cappuccino has chosen I Shot the Sheriff as his entrance music. Manni Mann is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Manni Mann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Al Cappuccino!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mann shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Cappuccino tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mann trying to control but Cappuccino is having none of it.
Mann sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Mann throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cappuccino because Mann loaded up on that one.
Mann trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Poor strikes thrown by Mann there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mann with shots to the head and body - Cappuccino looks very uncomfortable down there.
Cappuccino regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mann is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Mann seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cappuccino does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Cappuccino is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Mann jumps into side control!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mann misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Cappuccino is not content to let Mann control the position.
Mann tries to stand but Cappuccino is controlling his head.
Mann tries to advance to mount but Cappuccino denies him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mann tries to keep at a distance but Cappuccino has taken the fight into the clinch.

Cappuccino is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cappuccino stuffs the takedown attempt from Mann. Mann gets slowly back to his feet.
Cappuccino misses with a low kick.

Cappuccino closes the distance and clinches.
Mann tries to break the clinch but Cappuccino is controlling the position.
Mann tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Cappuccino breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Mann decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cappuccino's guard.
Mann is breathing heavily.
Mann looking to sit in guard and control but Cappuccino gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cappuccino wants to pass the guard but Mann is keeping the position.
Cappuccino slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Cappuccino looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cappuccino lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Manni Mann has been cut.
Cappuccino cracks Mann with a left hook right on the temple and Mann goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Cappuccino lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Mann is OK!
