Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Jones!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaPue shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
LaPue shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jones wants to control but LaPue is keeping him busy.
Jones is thwarting LaPue's attempts to control the position.
LaPue is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jones is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Jones looks gassed!
Jones blocks the strikes from LaPue.
LaPue is trying to control but Jones passes into side control!
LaPue parries the strikes from Jones easily there. Jones is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable LaPue to escape.

LaPue can't do much from the bottom here.
LaPue wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
LaPue tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch.

Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones drops his hands momentarily and LaPue takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

LaPue moves into range and clinches up with Jones.

LaPue ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. LaPue no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but LaPue keeps moving.
LaPue throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
LaPue wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but LaPue has wrist control.

LaPue has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jones off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Jones stuffs the takedown.
LaPue bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

LaPue can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Peppy LaPue just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
LaPue will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
LaPue slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat.
LaPue throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
LaPue shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. LaPue gets slowly back to his feet.
LaPue tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

LaPue regains half guard.
Jones scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
LaPue moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jones working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Jones with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. LaPue is keeping the position for now.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with LaPue. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
LaPue is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

LaPue seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
LaPue is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Peppy LaPue is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jones is refusing to be controlled, as LaPue sits in half guard.
LaPue throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

David Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
